Important information about studying in Finland

  1. Entry opens in December and ends in January. All universities in Finland offer different types of scholarships.
  2. Finland has a central approval system. All you have to do is memorize the program from different universities and apply online.
  3. By default, your application for scholarships will be considered when you apply for admission, so no separate application / process is required.
  4. You don’t need to contact professors or anyone else.
  5. There is no need for a block account like Germany requires.
  6. There is a limit of 25 hours per week for an odd job and no limit on the field-related jobs after getting a work permit.
  7. Monthly costs are around 450-500 euros which can be easily managed by collecting through part time casual jobs.

Like in Finland without an IELTS study

Here are a couple of ways, other than IELTS, from which student can take admission to Finnish universities:

  1. The student’s native language is English OR
  2. The student’s previous degree has been taught in English at any of the universities in the EU / EEA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or the USA. OR
  3. Some universities in Finland also accept if only part of the student’s previous degree was taught in the English language (English Proficiency Letter)

This is a certificate that your previous educational institution can provide stating that your medium of study was English.

Provide an English Proficiency Certificate or Medium instruction (MOI) by the time of your admission.

English language skills if you choose an alternative to study at a university that waives IELTS. Instead of submitting your IELTS.
